Congrats! That was officially the worst thing I've ever been served!
So it was my mom's 50th birthday and she chose McGrath's fishhouse, and she made it absolutely clear that she would not put on the wooden fish hat when they sang happy birthday to her. I ordered the pesto mushroom Tilapia which sounded delicious, but once it came out..... it was so stinkin salty or something that my mouth refused any more. I seriously couldn't believe it. I've never had anything at a restaurant that was that bad. So avoid it at all costs. That is all.

Sandwich Snob
I'll be honest. I really don't like sandwiches. I know it seems unamerican or something, but they never do it for me.....until........Benvenuti! Someone dropped off these delicious little sandwiches to my work breakroom and I was pleasantly surprised. I guess they were from a little Italian deli in Cottonwood Heights (2354 E 7000 S) and they were scrumptious. The bread is like a mix between a french bread and pita bread, buttery and soft. There were grape tomatoes on it that tasted like they had been homegrown. Geez that was a good sandwich, and I guess I'm still unamerican because it was an italian sandwich.

Sushi
So I've decided I have enough pictures on my blog of sushi that I ought to say something about it. I really, really enjoy eating sushi.... problem is Utah is not exactly a hot spot for fresh seafood and exotic cuisine. Don't be fooled by all the "sushi" restaurants that are popping up. Just because they have a sushi bar does not mean that its good. If you have ever had sushi in Seattle or California then you'll have a very hard time finding good sushi in this town. Might I recommend a little place called Samurai. It tastes super fresh and they have a delicious Volcano roll. Located around 6200 s. and Highland Dr. Go big or go home. Maybe later I'll blog some techniques for making your own at home. Don't be fooled by the hole-in-the wall appearance- the sushi dude knows what he's doing. Also I heard there's an excellent sushi place called Takashi downtown... I'll be the judge of that.
For all you working women....

To conform to the busy lifestyle of the working woman, Lean Cuisine frozen entrees were invented. I have been very impressed with their vast selection, and the fact there are no preservatives and low fat content keeps me coming back for more. My favorites include; Stuffed cabbage rolls with whipped potatoes (only like 260 calories so you can eat something else with it if it doesn't fill you up- C'mon people) and the Garlic chicken pizza- which was quite tasty for something semi-healthy.
